HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUINN!! (part 2)

Quinn had her 1 year check up last week and everything was normal!  She now weighs 19.4 pounds and is 29 1/4 in. long.  Her head apparently is still HUGE above average in the 80 percentile! Ha!  The vaccine shots may have been the worst yet (for Mommy anyways)!  It's totally different now that she is understanding what happens.  I of course saved grabbed her once the nurse was done, only to start crying myself! Mike's literal response when he saw me was "Are you okay?!" - insert sarcastic tone and even more mommy tears here.  Needless to say it was a rough few minutes, but she (and mom) managed to survive!

In addition to Quinn's 1st birthday with friends and family here in VA, she also got to have a celebration in Connecticut with the O'Rourke family! (She might just be a little bit loved!) We made the 9 1/2 hour drive up for our annual summer visit and Quinn seriously got to see just about everyone!  We spent the 4th of July at Uncle Jim's house, went to Aunt Susan's in Fairfield for a cookout on Friday, and then on Saturday met Aunt Michelle for breakfast AND hung out at David's graduation party.  We were so happy that she got to see/meet so much family and of course our social butterfly loved every minute.

We have one more trip to the beach planned and of course the VT game in Atlanta to see Gigi and Papa. I am literally pretending like summer is just going to go on forever (no panic attacks needed yet!)...it doesn't get much better than hanging with my girl all day! :)

1 year old and two shot survivor!

LOVED hanging out in Aunt Terri's pool!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUINN!!! (part 1)

We officially have a 1 year old!  Unbelievable!  This has seriously been the best year of our lives and we are loving every minute of watching Quinn grow.  She can now tell us what many animals say (Our favorite is asking her what the lizard does and she sticks her tongue in and out of her mouth.), she is walking all on her own, and communicating more and more with signs (She finally learned help! Yay!!) and words.  We were walking around downtown last night and she seriously refused to let us hold her hand.  She was like a little maniac trying to get away from us!  We are going to have one independent girl on our hands!!

Her actually birthday was on Friday and then we had a small get together with some friends and family to celebrate on Saturday.  Quinn was so excited to have a house full of people and all of the attention on her.  Jackson tolerated the noise and chaos by hiding out on his favorite pillow on the couch instead!  More than anything I think that Daddy is happy that the planning is over! (Get excited Pinterest followers who don't have to see anymore pins for "Quinn's Party"!) It ended up being a perfect day...thanks to all of our friends and family who helped make the day so special for Quinn!  At Mike's request I am going to try to limit the number of pics below! ;)  (I will add another post about our Connecticut trip and celebration another day!)
