Merry Christmas and 5 months!

We had a wonderful holiday season and Quinn loved her first Christmas! She even went to visit Santa with her best friends Annabelle and Claire.  Mike was on call Christmas Eve and Day so we stayed home and had all of the family from Roanoke up for the day. (Thanks for coming to us!!) We were in charge of the turkey (which really means Mike) and no one got sick so we count it as a success.  He did momentarily freak out when he realized that he left the giblets bag in the turkey, but it seemed to turn out okay.

Quinn has become super excited about visiting with family and friends and LOVES all the attention.  She also turned 5 months and has started sitting up all on her own during December.  Her expressions have definitely increased and she now lets us know when she is mad by screaming at the top of her lungs!

What we learned over the holiday break:
DON'T drive to Connecticut in the middle of a Noreaster that follows you up I-81!  When we traveled to CT for the O'Rourke visit things got a little crazy.  What normally takes us 9 hours took 16 hours over two days!!!  We left the day after Christmas with sleet in Christiansburg and it continued all the way to I-84 in Pennsylvania where Mike finally gave in and we stopped for the night.  Quinn (and Jackson) were seriously troopers during the 12 hour drive while Mommy was having panic attacks over the roads and wrecks we passed!  The next morning we made it 45 minutes before we were stopped in traffic for an hour because of a jack-knifed tractor trailer.  We finally arrived and had  a wonderful time with family.  We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and pray for many blessings for each of you in 2013!!!

SOOOOOO excited to be out of the car!
The HORRIBLE roads Mike tried to keep us alive on...

Sitting up all on her own (Thanks Aunt Jess and Uncle Jason for the outfit!)
She was a little too excited about Daddy's beer!
